Indicators and latent variables

In social science most of the the concepts are abstract and because of abstract concept (eg: Individual attitudes) makes the empirical research imperfect. So researchers choose indicator variable (other names : proxy,scales,scores etc)  for latent variable (variable for which no ideal measure).
